The Story Of A Bride to Be
I started a Bride to Be, after my own recent Bridal shopping experience….. Like most brides I thought wedding dress shopping would be the most rewarding experience of my wedding planning. WRONG!
To my utter and total disbelief.
None of the dresses I tried on worked for me, as they made me look a midget white marshmallow.
It seemed to me that all the dresses had been designed for supermodels!
My suspicions were confirmed upon the average price tag of $2,500 - $6,000 UP ……for dresses that were sold in Australia, by well-known Bridal brands, but mass produced overseas
Now I don’t know about you…..but to me that money is better spent on a mortgage/rent, car or a holiday payment.
So as a non-supermodel bride… without a killer body and a bank balance to match….. I was starting to loose all hope of finding my dream dress…
Not only that, but as a really short fair Australian girl, with big boobs…. none of the dresses worked. So now I had three problems:
1.Dresses that were out of my price range, by thousands of dollars!
2. Dresses that weren’t designed, for fair non-supermodel midgets with boobs!
3. Dresses that are white and wash me out and I looked ridiculous in them!
So after being a hysterical Bride to Be for a while, I thought to myself maybe I can solve my own problem “ As girl you have got connections”!
And so I set about to solve my three Bride to Be problem…. in that I thought to myself, why don’t I design and have my dress tailored for me at an affordable price!
And so on the 17th of September 2016, I was married in my Dream Wedding Dress a handmade & embroidered wedding dress that was created, just for me….. THE NON SUPERMODEL BRIDE !
My wedding dress was inspired by my Cinderella/ French Garden themed wedding and upon arriving at the chapel…. my husband burst into tears at how beautiful I looked! Sigh
It was whilst dancing at Cloudland, that I was approached by over 42 random revellers, who remarked that they had never seen anything like my dress. One lady even offered to buy the dress from me…right then and their.
Believe me walking through the Valley the Party Precinct Scene in My undergarments was not an option. LOL
It was on my honeymoon that I had my Eureka moment…I thought to myself surely there must be other Brides to Be out there despairing about the same wedding dress problems I was facing.
Why don’t I set up a tailored wedding business, where brides can have dresses designed for their preferred colours, style and their REAL Bodies.
